Tripoli, Libya

Oct. 20, 2009

Welcome to the capital of Libya! Welcome Libya to join my collection!
OE is a postcard collector with hospitality. He proposed a 5-5 exchange, so I got a lot of postcards from him. I don't know why but I received a 5+5 on differnt days! The stamp sets are also interesting, seems coming from a series story! Libya is a big country when talking about history. Their leader is also an interesting person so we sometimes hears their news from the newspapers :)

Pyongyang

Oct. 3, 2009

Wait and see, wait and see, then wait and see... Finally I got dreamy postcard from Pyongyang. I ever considered to have a trip to North Korea to watch the mass game performance, especially when rumor says that the leader Kim is going to deliver the country to his son.
Kao was in a trip to mainland China and attended a local trip to North Korea. We heard a lot about the checked postal mail so Kao sent me three cards to Japan, Finland, and Taiwan with very safe text - Welcome to DPRK! I know he got no chance to purchase stamps and postcards in post office and I feel very comfortable to have this one. The national flag is beautiful but there's no explanation for the building. What is it? I am looking forward to welcome another two cards' arrival!
My next dream for hard-to-get country will be: Georgia!

Add another postcard. Because we worried about the delivery to Japan, I also left my TW and FI address. Now I got the FI one! But the same question: what is the main building?!

Mauritius

Sep. 29, 2009

I merely remember that there was a boom of tropical fish in Taiwan 20 years ago. Maybe people in this kind of paradise will wonder why people spend money to trap beautiful fish which are normally seen around them in a glass box...

Bahrain

Sep. 27, 2009

Wow, I didn't notice that I already put 399 articles here. Postcards should be a little bit more. This one is the 400th!
I don't really why P showed me an old Russian postcard but I realized that a lot of people are learning Japanese!

Munich, Germany

Sep. 20, 2009
Thanks for Angela's business trip to Frankfurt, we met at Munich for the Oktoberfest (October beer festival). I roughly remember my previous colleague - sister Chloe - visited Oktoberfest before. Since I have 0% interest of alcohol, I was not interested in this festival even though it is super famous. Until this time I understand how interesting it is even for those who don't drink! Germans usually have two big cups (1 liter/cup) in a tent (a specific indoor food court by one beer company) but we could only finish about 300ml by two of us :) But we did enjoy the joyful atmosphere not only inside the tent but also outside the tent (a play groud).

Just as our expectation, Frankfurt is only a place for business, not a fruitful place for sightseeing; Munich is a good place for tourists to spend several days! Oh! We miss our weisswurst (white sausage) and sweet mustard! There is a special postal mark on the stamp!

Riga, Latvia

Sep. 19, 2009

More than 1 year, I visited Riga again. To be precise, I only transferred at Riga airport.
Thanks for the extremely low price flight ticket of airBaltic (not really that low price, though), Oulu has good connection to other main EU cities. The flight was only 2hr before but now it spends 3, so I wonder what's going on... The reason revealed when I checked in. It stops by Turku - one of the big cities in Finland - before leaving again for Riga, and visa versa.
I strongly recommand Baltic countries to other travelers but the disunited currency of these three countries makes travelers confusing...
By the way, this time I use SAS's Eurobonus to exchange free roundway ticket of OUL-(TKU)-RIX-MUC. Interesting thing is: SAS even issued a single way MUC-RIX mileage to me!! I don't know why but super happy!

Grenada

Sep. 15, 2009

Let's welcome the new friend - Grenada!
I believe there must be a lot of cruise course around central America but it is too far away for Asian. I still remember the image of my college study that big containers used horns just outside our classroom window when we were having lectures. What a beautiful picture if those residents can have this kind of view everyday!
